Margaritaville Fish Wrap Recipe

For some reason, whitefish often gets a bad rap among culinary enthusiasts. It may not have that distinct flavor associated with popular cuts like salmon and tuna, but if done right, whitefish can be an excellent addition to any dish. I like to think of it as tofu. Relatively bland on its own, it sure can take over the personality of any dish by absorbing its flavors. On top of all that, whitefish is also incredibly cheap, which is not too common with seafood these days.

This particular recipe sees our whitefish go hand in hand with some zesty Mexican flair to bring together a fun wrap everyone will love!

  • Place your fish fillets in a shallow glass bowl or ceramic dish.

  • Generously pour tequila mixture over the whitefish, making sure the fish is well-coated.
  • Cover the fish with plastic wrap and allow it to marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes. If you plan on using the fish later, you may store the it in the refrigerator for up to four hours. (Just make sure to turn the fish several times during the process.)

  • Place your tortillas on a flat surface.
  • Divide the whitefish into smaller pieces and arrange them on the center of the tortillas.
  • Distribute salsa evenly over each portion of fish.
  • Form your wraps by rolling the bottom of the tortilla up once, then roll lengthwise until closed.
