Pistachio crust ingredients include:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup toasted pistachio seeds
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Chocolate filling ingredients include:
- 150 grams dark chocolate, chopped (you can also use homemade chocolate)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs, beaten
Ingredients for the pistachio paste:
- 1 cup toasted pistachio seeds
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil, walnut oil, or any other healthy oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees to start making the pistachio crust dough. To do so, grind the toasted pistachio seeds in a food processor until fine.
- Using a hand mixer, beat the butter and sugar until pale. Add this butter-sugar mixture to the ground seeds along with flour, salt, and vanilla. Pulse gently until dough is crumbly.
- Transfer dough to a tart pan and spread it evenly on the bottom and sides of the pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
- As the crust bakes, mix cream and milk in a pot and heat over medium heat until the mixture boils.
- Transfer the hot cream-milk mixture to a heatproof bowl containing the chopped chocolate and stir until the chocolate is well-combined.
- Stir in the beaten eggs. Pour the filling into the tart crust. Makes sure the crust is cool before doing this.
- Bake the chocolate-filled pistachio tart for 20 minutes until filling is set. Set aside to cool once ready.
- As the tart cools, blend the pistachio seeds, sugar, and salt in a food processor until the mixture clumps together. Add oil and blend to form a smooth paste.
